1 Corinthians 13:13
Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
Faith is the substance of things HOPED for – without HOPE faith has no focus / no objectives / nothing to give substance to
Only the Godless are HOPEless.
I. Define Hope
Rom 15:13 (TPT) Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of HOPE, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with HOPE
HOPE in the NT, “favorable and confident expectation
“HOPE” describes the happy anticipation of good,
“I HAVE A HEART FILLED WITH HOPE AND
A CONFIDENT EXPECTATION OF FAVOR
II. Danger of Losing HOPE
“HOPE is a kind of spiritual food, by feeding upon which a man renews his energy”
When we lose HOPE and give up on our vision and dreams, something begins to happen within us.
No matter your situation God has never declared it HOPEless
Some people have conditioned themselves to live without the Thrill of HOPE and when you speak of HOPE they deflect it and diminish it
Rom 4:18-21 (NLT)
As long as you have HOPE you’re not helpless and if you’re not helpless why act HOPEless
III. The Benefit of HOPE
If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today
Research indicates that HOPE can help us manage stress and anxiety and cope with adversity
We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite HOPE!
As you fix your mind firmly on the HOPE of Grace your body will automatically prepare itself for action.
