The Power of Ordinary
2 Kings 2:19-22
One day the leaders of the town of Jericho visited Elisha. “We have a problem, my lord,” they told him. “This town is located in pleasant surroundings, as you can see. But the water is bad, and the land is unproductive.” Elisha said, “Bring me a new bowl with salt in it.” So they brought it to him. Then he went out to the spring that supplied the town with water and threw the salt into it. And he said, “This is what the Lord says: I have purified this water. It will no longer cause death or infertility. ” And the water has remained pure ever since, just as Elisha said.
I. I. Bring Me A New Bowl.
An Ordinary Bowl with Ordinary Salt.
God uses Ordinary People.
It’s the Ordinary that God starts with in order to PRODUCE THE SUPERNATURAL
Salt has the ability to preserve
II. When God Wants to Do a Miracle, He Starts with the Ordinary.
There is no KINGDOM POWER without KINGDOM OBEDIENCE.
God is not asking anything magnificent from you, He is magnificent all by Himself
God uses the obedience to ordinary stuff and the obedience to ordinary principles of God’s word yields extraordinary results
III. Most People Want Relief Not A Cure!
Cure – verb – to relieve or rid of something detrimental, as an illness or a bad habit.
Relief – a means or thing that relieves pain, distress, anxiety, etc.
When you speak and do the word of God it works.
It was Peter’s obedience to step out on the ordinary that produced the extraordinary results.
As we are obedient to pray, then God breathes on our ordinary and produces the extraordinary results from our Prayer
You Have To Give God Something To Work With
Zech 4:10 “The people should not think that small beginnings are unimportant. They will be happy when they see Zerubbabel with tools, building the Temple
Obedience in the small things becomes the qualifying thing for the big things to be entrusted into your care.
Favor comes from being faithful in unseen places.
