2 Timothy 3:1-5
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
TITLE: NO THANK YOU, I HAVE A PROMISE
Dunamis (doo’-nam-is) – force (literally or figuratively); specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself): – ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.
Genesis 12:2-3
I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
I. ABRAM SUFFERED THE BURDEN OF REPUTATION.
The name Abram means “High Father”
II. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A SARAH.
III. GOD’S VISION FOR YOU WILL ALWAYS BE GREATER THAN YOUR CURRENT CAPACITY.
Genesis 17:1
When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.
“I am the God who is ENOUGH!”
Often, when God reveals something new about His nature it is to correct wrong perceptions.
II Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
IV. YOUR BLESSING IS NOT ALWAYS YOUR PROMISE.
Genesis 17:18-19
And Abraham said to God, “Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!” Then God said: “No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.
Abraham tried to accomplish in the Natural what God had planned to do in the Supernatural.
V. WHAT KIND OF FAITH DO YOU HAVE?

Psalms 62:5
My soul, wait silently for God alone, For my expectation is from Him.
VI. THE FAITH OF EXPECTATION TAUGHT ABRAHAM HOW TO WAIT.
Hebrews 11:8-10
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
YOU SEE, THE PROMISE WAS BIGGER THAN ABRAHAM!
Isaiah 8:18
Here am I and the children whom the LORD has given me! We are for signs and wonders in Israel From the LORD of hosts, Who dwells in Mount Zion.
