The Covenant of Power

Judges 13:2-5
There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had borne no children. Then the angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, “Behold now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and give birth to a son. Now therefore, be careful not to drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing. For behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son, and no razor shall come upon his head, for the boy shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”
WE MUST NOW ALLOW CHRIST’S LIFE TO FLOW THROUGH US
Deuteronomy 7:9 (NASB) Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His lovingkindness to a thousandth generation with those who love Him and keep His commandments;
I. GOD MADE A COVENANT
The Lord put conditions on this covenant.
2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, HE REMAINS FAITHFUL, for He cannot deny Himself.
II. SHE MADE A COVENANT.
Here is where a lot of people misses it… SHE SAID GOD I WILL DO ALL THAT YOU HAVE SPOKEN.
Maybe you feel the sacrifices or conditions out way the rewards.
III. THE KEEPING OF A COVENANT
Commitment means staying loyal to what you said you were going to do long AFTER the MOOD YOU SAID IT IN HAS LEFT YOU.
KEEPING THE COVENANT MEANT POWER.
HIS STRENGTH WAS NOT IN HIS HAIR BUT IN HIS COVENANT, OR COMMITMENT NOT TO CUT THE HAIR
Keeping promises or commitments is considered a measure of one’s worth
Promises require us to declare a conscious objective:
Hebrews 6:10 (NASB) 10 For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints.
Hebrews 11:6 (NASB) And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
